As a cosmologist, I explore fundamental questions about the origin and evolution of the very large scale structures in the Universe. I enjoy thinking about how new insights can be gained from existing observations, how better observations could transform our physical understanding of the Universe, and how physics, sometimes new, can help us explain our ever sharper visions of the Universe. I thrive in the research space between theory, data science, and observations.
I have been fortunate to be involved in influential experiments. My major current projects are the SPHEREx mission for which I am the Project Scientist and the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope for which I am leading the team focused on cosmology with large scale structures. I am a Senior Research Scientist and Principal Scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Senior Faculty Associate at the California Institute of Technology. There are often research opportunities at JPL with my group for undergraduates (apply through JPL internship programs), graduate students (apply through Caltech), and postdocs.
